The Sheppard Subway Extension needs to become a priority
THE CAUSE
Communities in or near the Sheppard Corridor have been neglected for far too long

Communities in or near the Sheppard Corridor have been neglected for far too long. The rapidly increasing density of the area is critical to addressing the desperate need for new housing, and over 14,500 new units have already been approved from Downsview to Malvern, with more in the pipeline awaiting approval. If each of those units has an average of 2 residents, that’s over 29,000 more people on the road, minimum. Just think about the traffic that will bring.
Without the support of sufficient local transit, these communities are forced to endure increasingly long, slow commutes on packed buses on congested roads to even access the subway. Increased pressure on existing infrastructure will only further the issues the city faces.
